       WASHING
Proper technique is essential in maintaining your cars finish. Most household dish detergents often times remove wax and leave a filmy residue on the vehicle. Try to select an auto wash designed for automotive use. Auto washes provide dirt-releasing agents, paint conditioners and will not remove wax. We recommend washing your vehicle weekly.

Preferably you want the vehicle in the shade or out of direct sunlight. If a shaded area is unavailable, keep the car wet by constantly misting with water throughout the washing process.

To begin the task, start with the wheels/tires making sure they are cool & dry. Using a safe cleaner will remove any accumulated brake dust and dirt. If the wheels have a heavy buildup, they may require a gentle brushing. We recommend washing the wheels using a separate wash mitt or sponge to avoid transferring brake dust and dirt to your cars finish.
Use a quality auto wash on your vehicle. Fill a clean bucket with water and the proper amount of auto wash recommend by the manufacturer
Wash your vehicle by starting at the top and working down using a quality wash mitt. We like our Cotton Chenille Wash Mitts because of the amount of soap it holds and it's ability to draw dirt away from the paint. Work on one section at a time and rinse often. Remember you want to keep the paint wet and not allow the auto wash and water to dry under the sun
Once your finished washing, it’s time to dry. We find that a synthetic chamois or air pressure works the best. A synthetic chamois is VERY absorbent and provides lint free/streak free drying. As with all detailing task, try to work in a linear motion.

POLISHING
In order to achieve a quality wax job that will last, we recommend first pre-wax cleaning and then polishing. Using a pre-wax cleaner will remove imbedded dirt not removed in the washing process. Most pre-wax cleaners are non-abrasive and safe for clear coats. You can expect your cleaner to remove water spots, oxidation and minor swirl marks. The cleaning process is a great time to identify problem areas such as deep scratches, hard water spots or heavy oxidation.
Following up with a polish will remove any roughness and condition your paint. Polishing will give a smooth finish adding depth, clarity and luster to your paint. Polishing will aid in reducing swirl marks; fine scratches and applying wax will be easier. We recommend that polishing should be done 1-3 times a year. This will be based on environmental conditions, vehicle usage and product selection.
Move vehicle into a shaded area and make sure the paint surface is cool to the touch.
Apply polishes & pre-wax cleaners sparingly using a quality terry cloth covered sponge applicator pad, 100% cotton cloth or a sponge applicator pad and follow manufacturers instructions carefully.
Try to concentrate on one area at a time (hood, door or fender) before moving on to the next one.
Apply polish & pre-wax cleaner in a linear motion, not circular. This way, any minor scratches will be a lot less visible in direct sunlight.
After the polish or pre-wax cleaner has been applied, buff the panel using only a soft 100% cotton cloth. You may notice that after a panel or two, your buffing cloth is no longer removing the residue easily. Switch to a clean cloth. You want it to be fun, not labor intensive.
Now for the most important part, In the polishing & pre-wax cleaning process, you removed more than just imbedded dirt & minor swirl marks, you removed your old wax. Follow our waxing tips and apply a quality wax
Remember to follow the manufacturers instructions.

   WAXING
To properly protect your paint from the harsh environment, you need a good quality wax. Wax is the only protection your paint has from the environment and without it would not last very long. For the wax to do its job, it needs to have proper surface preparation and application. Here are a few tips to help you achieve that "Cosmic Shine".
Move vehicle into a shaded area and make sure the paint surface is cool to the touch.
Apply wax sparingly using a 100% terry cloth covered sponge or foam type applicator pad.
When applying wax, rub in a linear motion not circular until all that remains is a slight haze. Most waxes work best when you allow this haze to dry. Try to concentrate on one area at a time, such as the hood, door, or fender. Next, using only a 100% soft cotton cloth, buff off the haze and move on to the next area. This way if you need to stop for any reason, you can easily pick up where you left off.
After you have completed waxing, return to where you had started, and with a clean cloth, rebuff. By this time the wax has had some time to harden and any extra buffing will bring out a deeper shine.
* Note:  Follow manufacturer’s instructions carefully because some waxes require you to buff immediately after applying the wax to a small section.
